As a member of the business community, would you like to make a difference in the lives of the families that you serve? I have an opportunity for your business to do just that. Arts On Stage – a local organization, has provided professional, educational theatre as a field trip for students in the Baltimore-Metro area. The productions Arts On stage presents provides educators a unique resource opportunity to teach their students through another medium. To take what they are learning in the classroom, reading in a novel or textbook and bring it live on stage. Learning through theater not only heaps children learn but it also fosters imagination and respect and appreciation for the arts.
The average cost of the tickets to see a one hour professional theatre performance is $8.50. However, with the rise in the cost of transportation for contracted bus vendors, schools are having to pay $8-10 a child to ride on the bus to come to the theatre. The ride to the theatre takes approximately 25 minutes or less on average. So something that was affordable, becomes too expensive for most due to the cost of transportation.
To help those to which this is a hardship, Arts On Stage, with your partnership would like to start a Transportation Fund to enable schools that otherwise would not be able to afford to come to experience Arts On Stage’s presentations, can with your generosity. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of the families that you serve.
Our goal is $10,000. That would impact one thousand children.
With your willingness and your generosity to help these children, your support will be shown on our Supporters page of our website. Announced on our Social Media sites (Facebook, Twitter and Instagram) at the time of the donation and also when the fund is used for a school. In marketing materials, press releases and direct mail (schools, membership list) announcing the Transportation fundraising efforts.
